After a serious illness there is a step nobody tells you about

After an operation, a stroke, a long illness or a serious joint problem, you are entitled to apply for a course of rehabilitation. It runs for several weeks, as an outpatient or as an inpatient, and its purpose is to get you back to work and to ordinary life.

The confusing part is that two different bodies may pay for it. If you are still working, the pension insurance usually covers it, because the aim is to preserve your capacity to work. If you are retired or not in work, it is usually the health insurer.
