What the Verified badge does and does not say

Verified says one thing only: a real person stands behind this profile and manages it themselves. YabInfy does not check anyone's certificates, licences, experience or competence, and the badge is not for sale. Doctors in Bavaria practise under the Bayerische Landesärztekammer, which is where a question about a licence belongs.

Your insurance card now carries the prescription too

The pink paper prescription has given way to the electronic one, and that changes a few things for you.

The doctor issues it electronically and at the pharmacy you simply hand over your insurance card. If the pharmacy is shut, or you would rather collect somewhere else, you can also hold the prescription code on paper or in your insurer's app. Which is a good reason to keep your card with you even when you are only going out to pick up medication.

There is also a separate electronic patient record that gathers your results, reports and medications in one place. You are enrolled automatically, you can opt out, and you can control which practice sees which part. If you are uneasy about it, raise it with your insurer rather than your doctor, because the settings belong to you and not to the practice.

Treat Nürnberg and the cities attached to it as one area

Nürnberg, Fürth and Erlangen effectively run into one another and are minutes apart on the city and regional rail. Confining your search to the Nürnberg boundary makes little sense and shrinks your options for nothing.

Judge by door-to-door time instead. If a doctor in the neighbouring city is quicker to reach than a practice on the edge of Nürnberg, that is the better choice. All three are in Bavaria, so nothing changes about insurance or referrals.

Questions that only apply here

• Do they issue prescriptions electronically, and will they print the code if you ask?
• Are they registering new publicly insured patients?
• Will they renew regular medication without an in-person appointment?
• If follow-up happens in a neighbouring city, will they accept those records and results?

If this group is not big enough for you

The largest set of Persian-speaking doctors in Bavaria is in München, about an hour away by train. For a specialist visit that is acceptable; for a GP it is not. Before that, phone the practices in this area and ask whether anybody on the team speaks Persian, because our list only holds people who registered themselves.

Reviews and privacy

Nothing about looking is recorded. Which page you opened is not kept, and your contact with a practice is never displayed. Something becomes public only when you write a review, under a name you supply yourself.

Cover the things anybody can assess: how long you waited for an appointment, whether the practice ran to time, and whether the explanation you got was clear. Do not pass judgement on whether the diagnosis was right, and if you have doubts, get a second medical opinion.
