What the Verified badge does and does not say

Verified says one thing only: a real person stands behind this profile and manages it themselves. YabInfy does not check anyone's certificates, licences, experience or competence, and the badge is not for sale. Pharmacists in Bavaria belong to the Bayerische Landesapothekerkammer, which also organises the state's out-of-hours pharmacy rota.

A pharmacy is not just a counter where boxes are handed over

Most people see a pharmacy as a collection point and never learn about several things it actually does. For somebody new to this system, they save both time and money.

First, if you take several medications, the pharmacist can look at the whole list together and catch interactions and duplications. For an elderly person collecting prescriptions from three different doctors this is invaluable, because nobody except the pharmacist sees the entire list at once.

Second, delivery. Most pharmacies do it, and for a patient who cannot get out it is simpler than any other arrangement. A phone call and the prescription are enough.

Third, ordering something not in stock. A pharmacy can order it in, usually within one working day. If your medication is an unusual one, do not let it run down to the last day.

And one thing a pharmacy does not do: diagnose. If you have a symptom you do not recognise, that belongs with a doctor, and the pharmacist will tell you so.

In München a regular pharmacy serves you better than the nearest one

München is not short of pharmacies and most neighbourhoods have several, so finding one is not your problem. Choosing between them is.

Settle on one, preferably somewhere you can speak Persian, because that is where a record of your medications builds up. For nights and holidays, the state rota is searchable on the Bavarian chamber's website, and most pharmacy doors carry the duty notice as well.

• Will you look at my full medication list and tell me about interactions?
• Do you deliver, and from what time?
• Can a new medication be explained in Persian?

Your prescription is accepted at any pharmacy in Germany, so you do not depend on this list to collect medication. This list is for when you want to ask something and be sure you understood the answer. If none is near you, use the nearest pharmacy for routine prescriptions and go to one of these for a new medication or a serious question.

Reviews and privacy

Nothing about looking is recorded. Opening a pharmacy profile is not stored, and we never show who went where. The only public part is the review you write, under a name you choose.

Say nothing about your medication or your condition. Write instead about whether they took the time, how long an order took, and how a delivery went. Nobody writes those, and they are exactly what a patient's family is looking for.
