What the Verified badge does and does not say

Verified says one thing only: a real person stands behind this profile and manages it themselves. Three weeks, the deadline that destroys more cases than anything else

If you take one thing from this page, take this.

If you receive a letter of dismissal, you have three weeks to challenge it at the labour court. The clock starts on the day the letter reaches you, not the date printed on it and not the day your employment ends. If those three weeks pass, the dismissal becomes valid even if it was never justified in the first place.

So do not reverse the order of things. Write down the date you received the letter, then get a lawyer. Do not wait to talk it over with your employer or hope for a better answer, because the calendar does not wait for you. Even if you intend to settle, filing within the deadline strengthens your position in that very conversation.

Take three documents with you: the dismissal letter, your employment contract, and your recent payslips. If you have legal expenses insurance, bring the policy number too.

München is expensive and appointments take time

München has a large legal market, but it is also an expensive city and the good offices tend to be full. For a case with a deadline, that combination is dangerous.

So if a deadline is running, call several offices the same day and say in your opening sentence that you have a deadline and what the date is. Offices take that seriously and reorder their work around it. If none can help, Augsburg and Nürnberg are in the same state, and for correspondence the distance causes no difficulty.

• What does a first consultation cost?
• Does my legal expenses insurance cover this, and will you deal with the insurer?

If this group is not big enough for you

The other Bavarian cities have their own lists on this site, and for much of the work correspondence is enough. If the matter is urgent and you cannot find anybody, ask the offices on this list to recommend a colleague. Referral is ordinary in legal work and usually produces an answer quickly.

Reviews and privacy

Nothing about looking is recorded. Reading a lawyer's page is not recorded, and who instructed whom is never displayed. Your review is the only thing that gets published, under a name of your choosing.

Say nothing about your case or your employer's name, because it both identifies you and can create trouble for you. Write instead about how quickly you were given an appointment, whether costs were clear from the start, and whether they were responsive under time pressure.
